When trying to use the "Quick Fix" button in the Time Shadow Desktop module I get an error message. |
This problem is has been fixed in the latest version of Time Shadow. |
You must follow these instructions to correct the problem. |
- Reboot your machine
- Stop all non essential programs. This includes non essential services on Windows NT,2k and XP
- Exit all Time Shadow applications
- Download and install the correct service pack for your edition of Time Shadow

Time Shadow Professional Edition v1.75 - (Service Pack 2)
- Click the Windows "Start" button and choose the "Run" option.
- Click the "Browse..." button and select the program TSDiag.exe located in the Time Shadow program folder.
(On a default installation of Time Shadow the program can be found in the "C:\Program Files\Software Maniacs\Time Shadow" folder.
- Choose the menu option labeled "Fix Invalid Variant error" located somewhere under the "File" main menu item.
- Exit the TSDiag utility.

Critical error trying to add Solo Edition user assignment |

When I try to add the a new client (or project) I get one of the error messages above. |
This problem is related to using the "Purge Records" and "Clear Demo Database" features of the administration module. For a temporary fix to this problem exit the Time Shadow Administration module and the start it again to add clients or projects. A fix to this problem has been supplied in Time Shadow Service Pack 2.
Please download and install the correct service pack for your edition of Time Shadow to correct this problem. |

I can't export my reports to *.DOC, *.XLS, or *.RTF format. |
When I try to export reports in from Time Shadow in any Word or Excel formats I do not get any output. When I try to export in rich text format (*.RTF) I get the following error message
"Critical Error: Tracking number #7252. Line #1570. Filename main.cpp.
Please contact technical support and report this problem." |
This problem is related to an improper installation of the reporting components of Time Shadow. |
Please follow these steps to correct the problem. |
- Reboot your machine
- Stop all non essential programs. This includes non essential services on Windows NT,2k and XP
- Exit all Time Shadow applications
- Download Time Shadow Report Fix v1.75
- Install the downloaded report fix.
- Reboot your machine.

I can't import client records. |
When I try to import client records into the multi-user version of Time Shadow I get the following message: |

If you're experiencing this problem or other errors occur when attempting to import client records into a multi-user installations of Time Shadow then please download and install:

When I try to import client records using .csv formatted file into Time Shadow I get the following message: |

| The instructions in the help file for Time Shadow are written for a specific version of Outlook and if you are experiencing this problem it is likely that the version your using does not export the same default fields that Time Shadow expects to receive. |
| To correct this problem you will need to export your contact information again using the following steps. |
|
- Follow the instructions in the Time Shadow help up to step and including step "10. Click Map Custom Fields".
- At this point the normal behavior would be to "Click Default Map" (Step 11.) but this must have changed somehow so we're going to be explicit in the fields to select.
- Click "Clear Map" button.
- Click "Default Map" button.
- The following is the list of fields that Time Shadow expects. Please verify this list against the settings or the "To:" list box on the right hand side of the export dialog. The fields shown in your list must match the fields in this list and be in the exact same order. Remove any additional fields as necessary to make the list match.
